Anything goes WNBA slate

So, this WNBA slate has about 30 moving parts. If you are not going to be around tonight, then don’t play.

Here is the list of injuries:

Jasmine Thomas (Questionable)

Bria Holmes Out

Briann January Questionable

Alana Smith Questionable

Kia Vaughn Questionable

Nia Coffey Out

Breanna Stewart Questionable

Sue Bird Questionable

Satu Sabally Out

Katie Lou Samuelson Questionable

Alicia Gray Questionable

What teams have to play for:

Seattle- already clinched a top 2 seed with a bye. No real true advantage with the top seed

Phoenix-Locked into a 4 and 5 seed

Connecticut can either be the 6 or 7 seed. Do they care?

Chicago – 6 or 7 seed but probably REALLY need a win

Atlanta and Dallas both fighting for last playoff spot

So as you can see a lot of motivations differ. So my first thought is that Stewart and Bird sit. I am 100% confident Bird sits and probably 60% on Stewie. The rest of the questionable players are truly 50/50 shots in my mind.

So with Sabally out the added benefit goes to Arike and Thorton. Does Dallas play Ndour? They have not all year. I only tout Ndour if she starts.

I like Atlanta players a lot as I think they are going to play a ton, especially Elizabeth Williams, Courtney Williams and the player with the initials BL

To me Jordin Canada is almost a lock on this slate (last time I said that she busted). Obviously ,Howard if Stewie is out. I expect Magbergor to be chalk and she should be if Stewie is out. But I would not be surprised if Mercedes Russell draws the start and possibly gets more run. Lloyd, Clark and Whitcomb are also strong plays if Stewie and Bird miss.

I like the Sun value but we need Thomas and January to be out

Stacking Seattle-Dallas makes some sense if all the questionable players miss. I like Chicago a lot here too but the front court situation is just real iffy with nobody getting a ton of minutes.

Stud rankings:

Thomas>Bonner>Vadnersloot>Arike>Taurasi>Diggins>Turner

Value: Canada, Magbergor, Conn guards if Thomas January miss, whoever starts for Dallas, Hebard

GPP Plays I like: Vandersloot, Taurasi, Vaughn, Russell, Lloyd, Charles, Ndour (if she starts) Katie Lou, C Parker, Hebard, C Williams, E Williams

Fade of the Slate: Diggins

Lock of the Slate: Canada
